Last Saturday we celebrated Mike's 40th birthday. The theme was "Prehistoric, but not extinct." Tawnya ordered some dinosaur floats for the yard.
I made this sign for her to put on the garage.
Ryder of course LOVED the dinosaurs in the yard and thought that was so cool.
She filled terricata(sp?) pots with pudding, a gummy worm and topped them with oreo crumbs. There were little candy bones, bone shaped chocolates, dinosaur sugar cookies & other yummy goodies!
Ryder was playing with the decorations and making the dinosaurs each the dessert too.
The McBride boys dressed up in these animal print suits.
When it came time to light the candles someone thought it would be best to use a torch to light them all.
The candles were the only light at this point. This is a horrible picture{I have yet figured out how to take good photos with low light} but I love how you can still see everyone...that's how bright it was.
On Wednesday I was going to try to take the kids to the zoo, because they were having a free day, but the weather turned out to be really cold and was going to snow later in the day. So we decided to go to the Church History Museum in Salt Lake instead. My friend Amy & her friend Tina met us there. We parked under the Conference Center and the kids had fun walking over and seeing the fountains.
So we had 3 adults and 8 kids all together. I brought my nephew Calyx with us, for Ryder to have someone to play with. I'm glad there were the three of us to help watch the kids. The rooms had doors between them all, and it wasn't a big place, but it was nice to have someone in each room to help keep an eye on all the kids. It was free, so I can't complain, but it would great if there was a main door or gate to keep all the kids in. There was only one way in & out, but it was just open and lead right into an art exhibit. The boys favorite part was probably Nephi's boat!
They had a little city with dolls that you could dress up and move around.
They had a play kitchen area where you could make dinner and feed the missionaries.
And a place where you could plant your own crops.
Another one of Ryder's favorite spots was an area where you could put headphones on and listen to music or stories or something...I never did put them on to find out.
There was a truck with stuffed animals in the back. The kids were saying they were at a zoo.
And Cambria found a dog that looked like Matix{her Aunt & Uncles dog.}
My little zoo keepers.
The boys were the first ones to try out the dancing area. Ryder was actually stomping his feet like the video. Amy tried to get a video of him, but as soon as she turned it on, he stopped. It was pretty funny though.
Then the girls decided it was their turn. Cambria was being a stinker and thought that the people dancing{her and Payton at this point} had to stand right in front of the TV to dance. She was freaking out when Payton would come over on "her side." After a little bit she got over it and started to dance around. Amy got some videos of the girls that you can watch HERE.
And Piper just enjoyed walking around the big mirror and talking to herself.
Ryder made his way back to Nephi's boat many times!
They had computers you could go on and play the games that are on Friend.lds.org.
A chicken coop to gather eggs.
They also had an area to build your own Temple....pretty cool!
A bike that has balls in the front wheel, to spin and listen to the calls bouncing around.
And a tortilla toss!
Walking back to the car the kids wanted to stop at the fountain and get their picture taken. Cambria was the one that asked for a picture, but then didn't want to smile.
{ignore the finger print smudge on my lens} Cambria jumped off the side and ran at me with her arms open like bird...silly girl!
And the two boys sitting there.
The kids had a lot of fun there! I'm sure we will be going back again soon since it's free!!! It's not going to change though, so we'll just keep going until they get tired of doing the same thing. Hopefully the weather will get warmer soon and we'll be able to do more stuff outside again. It snowed later Wednesday night a little and then again yesterday some. Tonight it's our night to babysit all the kids in our little baby sitting swap. Then tomorrow we are going to a birthday dinner for Wes & Abby's birthdays...yum!

What a fun time you had! We always like to go to the Church History Museum when we are up that way but by the time we get there in the summer all the cool things have been played with or used up. So it was cool to see that there really are new fresh things there. Burr it looks cold!
Seriously this museum looks awesome!!!!! I love it. Its always fun to watch your kids play at these kind of places.
